Knights of Columbus #1412 will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2009. One of the key elements of planning will be a collection of pictures, plaques, awards, newspaper articles & other memorabilia that exists in current & past members' families. If you have any items of interest in your possession, please make a list with a brief description, & forward it to the Blessed Sacrament Church office. Please don't delay; your list is needed as soon as possible. Call Carl Sterling at 352-8365 or Glenn Peltier at 352-4197 with your questions/suggestions. |

It is a Catholic, Family, Fraternal, Service Organization But what does this all mean to you and your family? Know that we strive to grow spiritually, while responding to those who need our help; the disadvantaged, seniors, the unborn, orphans, youth, widows, the Church, and many other worthy organizations through volunteering our time and financial assistance. Now as never before we have various activities available to help strengthen Family Life. Some of our family programs include Family Bowling Day, Arts and Entertainment Day, Children's Christmas Party, Movie Day, Family Fun Skate Day, Youth Talent Day, Soccer Day, Annual Picnic, and more. Indeed, we have many other activities involving your local Communty, Seniors, Church, Pro-Life and Council Socials of various kinds to help build and develop lasting friendships. We are sure that many of these programs would be quite appealing to you and your family. Give generously of yourself - your time and talents. Learn how to build selfesteem, develop leadership qualities, gain satisfaction in helping others, meet new friends and socialize with fellow Catholics who share the same faith, morals and beliefs that you do. Today as never before, Catholics need each other. To obtain further information on the Knights of Columbus please contact our Membership Director. He would be only too happy to answer any questions that you may have concerning our Order. Find out about the many benefits available to you as a member. Since God has blessed us with so much, we owe it to Him and ourselves to assist those who might otherwise be neglected. All we ask is that each Brother Knight help a little, and in this way a great deal will be accomplished. Our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, has called the Knights of Columbus the "Right Arm of the Church". |
Here's what the Popes had to say about the Knights of Columbus:Pope Paul VI - "The Knights of Columbus are an immense force for good."Pope John Paul I - "I give my blessing to all the Knights of Columbus, their families and their work." Pope John Paul II - "I greet the Knights of Columbus; the more than 1.3 million Catholic laymen all over the world, who display a spirit of profound attachment to their Christian faith and of loyalty to the Apostolic See." |

The following is the prayer that was used by the Knights of St John, also known as the Knights of Malta. Perhaps the Knights of Columbus may enjoy praying it. |
