| Father Michael J. McGivney, founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882. The order came to Ontario in 1897 and has been growing ever since. The Fourth Degree is the visible section of the Knights of Columbus. It is the right arm of the Catholic Church. |

The 5th Ontario District has a very long history of Special Events and Celebrations. One of the most recent events was a First in the History of the Knights of Columbus. On February 3rd, 1997, His Excellency Bishop John Michael Sherlock, Bishop of the Diocese of London, together with thirty eight Priests and Religious from the Diocese, became Fourth Degree Knights at a very impressive exemplification hosted by the Henry Dormer Assembly of London.![]() Photo © S.K.
